Traderjoedex swap fees

LFJ, formerly Trader Joe, adds no platform fee on its Swap page, although routed pool fees and network fees still apply. Its premium trading tools charge a 1% platform fee deducted from output at execution. To explain a difference between quoted output and tokens received, identify the execution path and separate its fee deductions from the exchange rate and gas.

Charges and their fee bases

Component Documented rate or basis Applicable path Cost treatment
Swap page platform fee No additional LFJ platform fee Traditional Swap page through the Meta-Aggregator Routed pool fees and network fees remain payable.
Premium trading tool platform fee 1% of output before the platform deduction Limit orders, DCA orders, stop loss orders, Terminal market orders, and Trenches buys Deducted at execution. DCA charges the fee on each individual execution. Gas is separate.
Joe V1 pool swap fee 0.3% of traded volume Swaps through Joe V1 pools Apply the V1 rate only to the amount traded through V1.
Liquidity Book base fee Configured from the base factor and bin step Liquidity Book pool swaps Applied to the swap amount handled within each bin.
Liquidity Book variable fee Depends on the pool's volatility calculation Liquidity Book pool swaps Calculated per bin and can change as a swap crosses bins.
Network transaction fee Varies with network activity and gas settings Network transactions for swaps and premium orders Paid to the blockchain network separately from LFJ's platform fee.

Quoted output and received tokens

An execution amount before the premium trading tool deduction and a received amount after it measure different quantities. Check whether each displayed output includes the platform fee before calculating a difference. Subtracting a fee already included in an output figure counts that charge twice.

For a partially filled limit order, match received tokens to the executed portion. Keep unfilled input outside the fee calculation; unfilled funds in expired LFJ limit orders require a manual claim. For a Stop Market order, evaluate the actual execution rate separately from the fee: its trigger initiates a market sell using available onchain liquidity.

Pool fees and price impact

The Liquidity Book fee model combines a base component with a volatility-sensitive component. Pools for the same token pair can have different bin steps, which affect the base fee. A token pair alone therefore does not establish the pool's rate.

Liquidity Book exchanges at a fixed price within a bin while sufficient reserves remain. A swap needing more liquidity moves through other nonempty bins at their prices. The resulting price impact changes output separately from the trading fee.

A Liquidity Book protocol share divides the collected swap fee between recipients. Adding that share to the swap fee again would double count part of the charge.

Route and output comparison

LFJ's Swap page shows route details and allows selection among available routes. Compare fresh quotes using the same chain, token contracts, and input amount, then establish which deductions each output figure includes. A Swap page quote and a Terminal market execution use different platform-fee schedules even when they concern the same pair.

Compare net token output alongside the separately paid network fee. If gas is paid in a different asset, compare its value in a common unit instead of subtracting unlike token quantities. A lower pool fee alone does not establish the lower total cost.

The completed transaction is the basis for reconciling actual input, received output, and network cost. Match those amounts to the executed path and its applicable fee basis before comparing them with an earlier quote.
